4H One Day!

One day can make a difference.
One day 4-H is going to change Texas.
This October 10th, all over our state, 4-H clubs will be going out into their communities to lend a helping hand in exciting new ways. What will you do?

Choose something as simple as mowing a local neighbor's lawn, or organize hundreds of your 4-H friends and design a project that benefits your entire county. Whether you work by yourself or with other community groups-it's all good!

Sponsors and donors, we need your help! Get behind this unprecedented opportunity for outreach and help us show Texas, our country, and the world why 4-H IS the future!

Be creative-the sky's the limit! Let's join together and show everyone the power of 4-H one day!

Over the next few weeks, all the info you'll need to get organized and plan your one day 4-H service event will be available online and through your local 4-H leaders.

What will you do, one day?

The 4-H Million Trees Project was conceived after a Pacifica 4-Her decided to do something big to help combat global climate change. The goal of this project is to mobilize the approximately 7 million 4-H youth across the U.S. and Canada to participate in this project to plant 1,000,000 trees across the continent to help reduce atmospheric CO2. Clubs outside of the U.S. and Canada are also invited to participate.

Take a look at this amazing challenge!

10th Annual Easter Celebration

The Premont Cactus 4-H had a wonderful turnout for the 10th Annual Easter Celebration. There were a total of 5 hunts with over 3000 eggs filled by our hard working members. 53 baskets filled with goodies were given to those whose eggs had a special number in them. Thanks to Dairy Queen for donating tokens that could be found in the eggs as well.

Travis Brown and his family had a petting zoo including turkeys, goats and baby chicks. Mrs. Sue Thompson, April and Tilden helped keep the animals happy.

Ryan and Emily Kalinec's family made crafts including a foam bunny which was a big hit!

Jake and Chance Russell, Kathy Russell and Letty Lara made cheeto puff carrots.

Meghan, Trevor, Tammy and Carlos Martinez were busy with multiple game booths. The "Shrek" game was a big hit with the older crowd!

Mrs. Sain with the help of Amy and Mark baked cupcakes and helped the children decorate them with candy, sprinkles and more. Mmmmm they were good!

Annabel Chapa had many Easter themed craft activities that kept little hands busy!

The Bowman's served over 250 hotdogs courtesy of the JWC Precint 4, Commissioner Javier Garcia. Thank you Sebi Palacious for serving Gatorade to our thristy hunters!

Thomas Bowman and AJ Palacios along with Adolfo and Lazara had a roping dummy booth. The roping dummy was made from PVC by AJ and his dad. These lil' cowboys had great fun!

Chris, Abel, Monica and Javier Moralez, Meagan and Brianna Saenz, Aaron Lee were in charge of the multiple Egg Hunts. The group enjoyed seeing many happy faces. A special thanks to everyone who donated their plastic eggs back to the group for next years Easter Celebration.

Many Thanks to the Bikers who donated the Jumping thing and Mrs. Duque for providing hours of jumping fun.

Without the many hours of preparation by Tammy and Carlos Martinez, Cathy Lee, Annabel Chapa, Liz and Eddie Kalinec, Kathy Russell (the signs were great), Chris and Able Moralez, Adolpho and Lazara Palacios, Tessa Bowman, and Sue Thompson, the celebration would not have had the huge success on it's 10th year anniversary.
